Animal Shelters & Rescues Coachella Valley & Southern California
Adoption Application

Dogs & Cats

Currently, all shelters and rescues are experiencing high volumes of relinquishments and strays. Please do not take it personally if they do not answer your call or respond to your email. They are overwhelmed and doing what they can to keep up. Most likely, there will not be room at rescues to take relinquishments. Do not give up hope. Keep calling rescues and keep posting. Rehoming a dog takes time and is not something that should be tackled at the last minute.

With euthanasia at an all-time high, it’s best to keep your pet out of the kill shelters. Please exhaust all opportunities to rehome your dog or cat on your own first. You can find instructions on how to do this on our “Rehome” page.

As space allows, we also select healthy, adoptable cats and dogs from other local animal welfare agencies. Pets that are accepted into our center must pass health and behavior evaluations. All animals stay in our care until a good, loving home is found. No healthy, adoptable animal is ever destroyed. If space is not available to admit a pet, or if the pet cannot be accepted due to any other reason, owners are referred to other facilities and organizations.
